Mum’s 50th

Last weekend was my Mum’s 50th birthday.
It was a wild party.

Here is the story.
My Mum knew that something was planned but had no idea what was going to happen. My aunt Jude arrived from NZ a few days in advance. On the day of Mum’s birthday Jude took mum to a day spa. We [...]

My favourite old photos.

My mum turned 50 last weekend. We held a surprise party for her which went brilliantly, I will blog about the party as soon as I find the USB SD card reader so I can get the photos off the camera.
As a surprise I spent weeks going through my parent’s old photo albums [...]

Finally, another blog post.

Its been a long time since I blogged. I finished up the backpacking and being-back-home stories and just lost the desire to write. Writers block! And its not like we were not doing heaps of fun and exciting things!
A month after arriving back home in Australia, Lindsay and I flew to New Zealand for [...]

Christmas

Are we all still pretending its Christmas time? Oh good, so this post about Christmas won’t be strange then.
Christmas Eve was spent at Lindsay’s cousin Anna’s beautiful house with the Holmwoods.

It was a lovely and relaxed evening with lots of nice conversation and yummy food.

The next day was Christmas day, this was to be [...]

Sinterklaas in Sydney.

Lets just pretend its not yet Christmas and I am not like super dooper behind in the fascinating story of my life.
Lindsay and I had been home 3 days and were feeling a little kooky from the jet-lag. We were lucky enough to be housesitting in a lovely big house for a friend of my [...]

Home Time.

We woke up very early, and sadly had a rushed goodbye with Maarten and Yvonne who had been so lovely to get up with us before the crack of dawn. Lindsay and I caught a train to Arnhem, and from Arnhem a train to Frankfurt. From the train we could see snow on the fields [...]

Last Days in Holland.

Our last weekend was spent in Oss, Elke and I decorated the Christmas tree.

After forcing the lights into submission Lindsay lay under the tree.

He lay there taking awesome photos while Elke and I had a lovely time decorating the tree.

Yvonne has some of the most beautiful Christmas decorations.

Stunning!

The next day was Castle day. After 1 [...]

Mook Hei

The Monday after Sinterklaas my uncle, Jur, offered to take us out for the day. I told him I wanted to see a lock. So he drove us out to the Grave Lock, which is in a town called Grave…its not a Grave.

It was awesome watching the water go up and down delivering boats from [...]

Eeek so behind, I doubt I will ever catch up on all this blogging. But I will try!

We had Sinterklaas with my Uncle, Aunt and cousins, Jur, Marleen, Vince and Mick. It was a really lovely weekend.
Our first night we had homemade Pizza

Cooked in Jur and Marleen’s sexy new oven
