Where I Sit on a Ferry at 5am Surrounded by Bikies Drinking Tea

So if I failed at blogging before, I fail even more now. Its been over a month…or 2 months or something since I blogged! jikes.
Another thing I failed in? We met Avi, after talking to him via Beer we finally got to meet up with him at Beer’s house. I didn’t take photos and forgot to add this into my previous blogs :-(. So Hello Avi! It was really nice to see you and talk with you!

In our last weeks in Holland before heading over to the UK we were so busy!

First off I was really sick with the flu when Lindsay and I made the transition from Den Haag to Oss. Maarten and Yvonne had kindly lent us their house while on holidays so that we could easily visit my Oma and Opa. Instead we used their house as a hospital. Lindsay was a excellent nurse and managed to get me healthy enough for Oma and Opa to take us on a short trip to see a nearby Castle.

now I say it was short because we discovered upon arrival that the castle was in fact closed! But my Oma being the smooth talker that she is convinced them to let us into the court yards of the castle!
(yay for Oma!)

The castle had recently been done up beautifully to its original condition, it looked amazing from the outside!

it also had a pile of stakes handy in the case of handsome blood thirsty vampires.

we didn’t bump into many vampires. After the castle Opa and Oma took us out for lunch.

The next week was spent with Juriaan, Marleen, Vince and Mick at their house in Nijmegen. Elke brought us to their house and hung out with us for the evening.

Jur cooked this amazing indonesia meal, with every delicious indonesia food included. We all ate way too much and I still think its ones of the best meals I have ever eaten!!!! After dinner Mick (11 year old cousin) and Lindsay (grown up husband) decided to plan a 3-part attack on poor innocent Elke.

Part 1
Mick sneaks up behind Elke and places a yellow blanket over her head and uses it to hold her down.

Part 2
Lindsay hits Elke with pillows while Mick continues to hold the blanket over Elke and giggle.

Part 3
They celebrate their *victory*

Marleen then took Mick by surprise and decapitated him

Mick then regrew his head and turned into a Zombie
and began to chase his former partner in crime around the garden

Then Jur lit the campfire

while we looked to the sky, from below

and from on high

and watched parachuters jump from a plane as part of the celebrations for the 4 day marches

While Mick toasted Marshmallows

Jur and Lindsay played some bastketball

The rest of that week Lindsay was sick with the flu so I hung out with Vince and Mick being a pretty useless nurse but very helpful at finding gargoyles on Fable II.

It was then time to head over to the UK. We were booked to catch the overnight Ferry from The Hook of Holland to Harwick in England.

Jur, Marleen and Mick took us to the train station, where poor Mick had another Zombie relapse. We were so sad to leave after such a relaxing week with them!

We were going to catch the train to the Hook of Holland, but Beer very kindly cooked dinner for us and drove us from his house in Den Haag to the Hook of Holland to meet our ferry!

We had our own little room on the Ferry

the Ferry was huge, like a cruise ship!
We stood at the back of the boat watching them load all the truck containers onto the ship

I was so excited!

I had packed a huge amount of food so we wouldn’t have to buy anything on the Ferry.

We braved the cold rain to watch the ferry pull out of the dock

(I am doing that pinky thing..not sure who to)

As it got darker the harbour lights became more and more beautiful

We didn’t get to bed until about midnight, and at 4am I could heard the Engines change and looked out the window to see us pulling up in England. So I watched the Ferry Dock. At 5am Lindsay was still asleep, so I went to the cafeteria and bought myself a cup of tea. On our ferry were about 60 bikies from all over Europe.
They all quite rough with their tattoos and leather jackets. And I…couldn’t care less. I sat in the midst of 60+ bikies drinking my Earl Grey at 5am on a English Channel Ferry.
