10 days into our 4 day trip to Scotland.

Some things before I launch into my very overdue blog:
-Hello to everyone who reads this blog! I thought the number of people reading my blog equaled 4, 1 of whom is Lindsay who I hired (forced) to be the editor. But Alas! I have many readers! How exciting. And a little birdy (well really my mother) has been discovering some of my readers and she tells me that they find this blog funny! YAY! So hello readers and I am glad you find my blog amusing.
-I am considering blocking the comments section of the blog because the amount of spam I get is going to make me have a nervous breakdown.
-I am using internet explorer (on my uncle’s computer) so if the blog ends ubruptly its because I have smashed the computer to pieces.
-Dutch spell check plus my interesting spelling abilities = an interesting read. So good luck to you.

Anyway. Scotland.

The day after climbing a mountain/hill, we needed a day of rest…so we decided to walk around Edinburgh all day. We walked through the old part of the city down to the Newtown to do some shopping/drooling. Being backpackers, we have got the art of Window Shopping pretty much down pat. While walking through a square near the Art Gallery we found this musical group called Caledonia, preparing a performance:

Once they started, the sound was amazing. The sound of the drums and the bagpipe echoed around the city, it was fantastic! The were so rough looking in their highlander kilts, and long hair….and I did consider becoming a groupie but I did worry about how Lindsay would feel about that. We loved the music so much we bought the CD.
The group was having so much fun, they would jump around and tease each other while playing. The youngest of the group played the bagpipe, the sound was thrilling!

Compare the Bagpiper from Caledonia, to this one I spotted along the Royal Mile;

bit different, so was the music and the atmosphere the music created!

As it was one of our last days in Edinburgh I took some photos of the park we had to walk through each day to get to the city

and this path leads to our Hostel, Argyle Place.

The park is called The Meadows

Each day the Cherry Blossoms trees would get fuller and brighter!

Because I am so behind in my blog I am going to split it up into bite size chunks! See you in The Highlands!
