I started the day going for a swim with my Bridesmaids Kat and Mel as well as Little-Katherine the flower girl. Heading back to our rooms to prepare for breakfast I was informed of a slight dilemma with the timing of breakfast. The restaurant had told some guests that breakfast was over at 9am….but we had been told breakfast started at 9am. So I put on my bridezilla hat, grabbed my dad (you know for moral support…he is a loud and scary dutchman). Mum and Lindsay had been calling and text messaging the 30 or so wedding guests staying at the resort to come get breakfast quickly.
Turned out I didn’t need to go bridezilla and it was a slight misunderstanding. Unfortunately for them, the slight misunderstanding resulted in many half asleep guests who had literally rolled out of bed and stumbled to breakfast. Being a horribly cheerful morning person myself, I felt the need to run around and take photos of everyone eating their breakfasts!
After breakfast, my Dad’s cousin’s wife from Indonesia (we just say aunty…so much easier) Susan was brilliant, she called house keeping and got them to come make my bed. She encouraged (forced) me to go have a manicure and pedicure (I am glad she did). After this Jacob, my brother and I had an hour of crazily running around dealing with receptionists who thought we was trying to steal the centre pieces, my musicians friends who needed somewhere to practice, finding the wedding planner and conning friends into helping set up the tables for the reception.
I then realised with a shock that it was 12 pm and maybe time to start getting ready. I had managed to lose my mother and bridesmaids. But I did find a flower girl or two and quickly did their hair. My bridesmaids, mother and videographers arrived shortly before the massive storm did. The amount of rain was incredible!
I was running around un-showered wearing a tracksuit taking rescue remedy by the truck load. In this picture I am taking the ribbons off a present to use in the flower girls hair because I realised I forgot to buy ribbons!

Having the videographers there was great, they were so helpful having been to so many weddings they were able to help with the tricky things…like the weird straps of Kat’s shoes. They would often set up a tripod with the camera recording and facing us, then walk away. We would promptly forget about the camera and do and or say highly stupid and embarrassing things only to suddenly realise we were being filmed!! oops.
After a shower it was time for hair and make-up. While Mel was doing Jen’s make-up I ducked into the bathroom to change into my under garments. I walked out wearing a skimpy robe that wouldn’t stay done up to a room full of people. 3 aunts, 1 mother, 2 flower girls, 3 bridesmaid, 2 videographers, 1 photographer and one wedding planner. It was a little bit strange but I didn’t have time to worry about that.

Because it was time to dress me.
Everyone got involved in dressing me.

My aunt Jude has very cold fingers

The flower girls put my shoes on because I couldn’t bend!

And then Mel put my veil on me…and I in return put it on her.

We had some photos inside and on the balcony. And then everyone suddenly disappeared. We went from 12 people, to just me, the bridesmaids and the flower girls. Which meant it was time for….bridecam, dress twirling, funny faces and more rescue remedy!
Next up…walking down the aisle!
